Droplets
On windows
And on skin;
Telltale translucency;
Are you
A window as well,
With a chance of opening?
***
And what with the umbrella,
This redundancy,
To say the least,
Flowers need the rain,
So toss it far away
And let the trickles dance
***
Idle or winding,
Crawling or racing,
Fingers of the clouds,
Fleetingly are tracing
Pathways onto everything
***
In these droplets
Our reflections
Pass each other
And embrace,
Go their separate ways
All scenarios play out:
We go around,
We come around;
Near misses
Burning irises,
Magnets pulling us about.
When smiles are bitter
Tears are sweet,
All is backwards
Till we meet
***
Leave the umbrella,
Not me, wondering
What it tastes like, sharing the rain...
